Last Week Recap

What a fun past few weeks we've had! Besides our a/c being broken, I don't have any complaints. :-)

My sweet, sweet first babies. They love laying in the sun without a certain toddler tornado harassing them. PetsMart emailed saying Happy Birthday to Cocoa, so I guess it's her birthday. We'll have to do some celebrating this week.

This was supposed to be for a Friday Funnies post but I never got around to it. I love Mean Girls!

We got this random idea to buy a TV a few weekends ago. We had an additional 5% off at Target, so didn't spend very much. And somehow we ended up with a mini fridge (my idea) which was brilliant.

Whenever our air gets fixed, E & I will do lots of hanging around down here-- she loves to open the fridge and get her cheese cubes out!

LOL one night the dogs kept barking while I was putting Emma to bed. The dogs always seem up to no good when I sneak down and check on them.

We've been on the lookout for smallish plastic animals for Emma. They are so good to practice animal sounds, pointing out animals, and pretend play. Those puppies can be expensive! Luckily I found a kit at Toys R Us for $10 that even came with some trees (Emma's favorite).

She also picked out that dragon. Legit don't know what sound a dragon makes so we didn't get it. :-)

Little Miss Sassy before gymnastics one morning. Look at that hair!

That night Nathan was able to get off work and we went with some friends to a minor league game. It was so much fun! And free. :-)

The kiddos (3 total) did great. We got popcorn & a pretzel. I thought for sure Emma would love the pretzel but I later found her picking pieces of popcorn off the ground..yum.

Such a fun time. I was shocked at how well it went. Besides having to constantly watch out for foul balls-- a kid beside us got nailed and it was scary as hell.

Trying to figure out what today's out-of-house activity will be since our air guy cancelled on us. Fun times, y'all!

Crickets

Sorry for the crickets here lately. Life has been slightly chaotic. Mostly because our live in nanny moved out, ha.

Emma is teething (I think) and wants to be held by only me every single second of every single day. As much as I want to get things done, I soak up all those snuggles with her.

Back to photos. We decided to go to SAMs the day before 4th of July. It surprisingly wasn't that crowded. I love SAMs. Caralyn reminded me I said it multiple times while we were there. :-)

Several people came up to us and asked about Emma top hat. I'm calling it a toddler top hat. Also, I'm 99% sure they thought we were lesbians who adopted Emma.

C got Emma that suit (Little Mermaid) so obviously we ended up at the splash pad. Don't ask about the mentos. Something E swiped at Target and we had to go back and buy them.

The Crocs are the best! I totally recommend them if you have young children. No lie, we will probably be getting more in another color. We just hose them off every few days and good as new.

After we unloaded our SAMs haul (Did I mention I love SAMs? Just checking) we hit up our little bakery down the street. There's a little boutique near it but we didn't find anything.

On the 4th we made yummy salad and did the slip n slide. I got the bright idea to put Dawn dish soap on it. Brilliant.

Saw this cutie on my walk/jog on Sunday morning. We got up semi early to get all of our crap together to get Miss Caralyn to the airport.

Before we dropped C off we went to our old stomping grounds. I miss living there a lot! It was nice being able to walk everywhere, but of course having all this space (in our house) is worth it.

Emma loved the fountain and Nathan even put her feet in, LOL.

Monday we were dragging. Poor Nathan only got a 1 day weekend, laundry never got done, no food, womp womp.

Our motto around here these days is stay busy or go crazy, so we got the heck out of town. Kidding, we went to the mall. I knew it wasn't just me when I saw E had her feet up in the stroller. I feel ya, girl.

On the way home, E was super quiet. I was sure she was tired, nope. Homie found a pen. So cute to see her staring right at me.

While we were unloading the car, grandpa & grandma wanted to FaceTime so we hung around outside for a bit and showed off E's colored legs. Win win.

We found those headphones for Emma because *surprise* we are going to North Carolina to see my dad next weekend. Ahhh.

Found that giraffe at Homegoods. Don't worry it's going back. Wish I could make it work because you know we are giraffe obsessed.

With it being so hot we turn on the car an eternity before we actually get in. I thought Emma looked so cute running through the grass-- Sound of Music?

I don't remember where we were headed. Target? Bananas, cake pop, milk-- the essentials. Oh and some gift supplies, cards. . . somehow it was well over $100.

Emma has been saying "Dis?" a lot! Mostly when she has a crayon/marker/pen asking if she can color there. Ex: Pointing to the wall and saying "Dis?" and me yelling "NOOOO!".

Here (below) she was saying "Dis?" like "Can I eat this?". Yes sweet thing, eat it up!

It has taken Emma a long time to enjoy milk but she finally really likes it. I'm so thankful! We go through a lot of it-- especially if I put it in a big girl cup with a straw.

This was one random morning when she ran to Caralyn's room and knocked on the door, ha. Poor thing was pretty disappointed.

Waiting for our friends at the splash pad! We got there early and it was 115 bajillion degrees.

You'd think the splash pad would tired my kid out but nope, we were off to the playground. She is such a big girl and did the stairs all by herself.

Boom done. So tired. I have some funnies planned for tomorrow so that means I'll never get around to it! xox

Last Week Recap

How is it already Monday?? These summer weekends are flying by. Before we know it we'll be putting up the Christmas tree!

The most exciting thing our mall has is a soft play area for kids, an Old Navy, and these rides. Oh and a Kohls. If we're in a rush, we have to avoid the play area like the plague. Emma can sniff it out like nobody's business.

I think I've mentioned about our little splashpad/spray ground right up the road. It is awesome for Emma's age-- Even if she just runs the perimeter of the area. She some how gets soaked and has a good time so a win.

We were there twice last week and once the week before. We have a playdate at a different one tomorrow morning. I'd say we are getting good use of the swim suits. :-)

Oh and Nathan's mom got me that shirt and I love it! Except the fanciest place we go to is Sams so I may or may not have worn it there and then to..you guessed it, back to the splash pad.

God our lives are exciting. I swear I only post this stuff because it's what I have pictures of. Anywho. My grandmother got E that coverup and it is perfect for the drive home! I also said "Say hi to Nanny" and she'll wave right at the phone.

We met a little girl and her mom so chatted them up. The little girl (2.5) chased Emma around and stole her ball so that made for an easy bedtime. Boom.

Friday morning we had gymnastics while Nathan mowed and Caralyn slept. Oh to be 19 again. Emma "volunteered" to show off the skill of the week so that was kind of funny. She is such a ham.

Saturday it rained all freaking day and I think there was a tornado spotted somewhere not too far from us. I could be lying but I saw that on FB. We ordered take out and watched Cinderella.

Sunday Nathan took Emma out for almost 2 hours (!!) so I could vacuum/laundry/woman's work. They came home with almost everything on the grocery list andplusalso: sunglasses (N), three outfits (E), pajamas (E), two books (E), and a Diet Coke (Duh).

The crocs are still a bit big for her but I thought it was cute that Nathan picked this outfit for their day out.

Okay stay tuned next week: more trips to the splash pad. You won't want to miss!

Life Lately

Emma is napping so I thought I could throw up a post of some random pictures of life lately.

Emma is 20 months old and definitely in the "helper" stage-- we love it! She wants to help with everything. Including vacuuming. :-) Unloading the dishwasher and dryer are her favorites.

Our little hydrangea bush bloomed and it is so, so beautiful! Last year I Googled how to change their color (they were purple), so I'd say that was successful!

Last week the outlet mall had the Mommie & Me group and it was so fun. We got all the freebies and left early because it was super crowded. Emma did awesome and doesn't mind the crowd or loud noises. One kid was just relentlessly screaming. Glad to see it wasn't mine (this time).

Every morning when we wake up Emma wants to be so loud and play and throw things to the main floor. I always whisper because Caralyn & Nathan are sleeping and then she'll whisper too. So funny.

It lasted for about 30 minutes but I loved Emma's first braid! <3 <3 <3 Seriously, little girls are the best!

We had to get steaks & corn for our Father's Day dinner and because I have half a brain, we tried out the tiny cart. Kidding, a little.

It was fun and Emma only ran into our ankles a dozen or so times.

Saturday morning was gymnastics as usual. The teachers (coaches?) used to put up mats to keep the cats (I mean kids) in, but they stopped doing that.

Anytime Emma spots me, she makes a run for it. I am the only parent who literally has to hide. Granted, most of the parents are about 5 feet away from their child during separation time. CUT THE CORD, people!

We were getting ready to head out the door for the mall around 10:30-- what better time to have pasta with vodka sauce.

We have a love/hate relationship with balloons. They occupy her and keep her happy, but oh my gosh she wants to squeeze the life out of it. I can only imagine the screams the day a balloon pops around her.

Every day is just so much fun with my people! Caralyn had made Oreo balls and Emma somehow weaseled her way into getting one. I don't really know why Nathan was in her crib.

After our Father's Day adventures a certain little girl was so tired. She snuggled right up and went to bed super easily that night. :-)

We go through about 2-3 bananas a day. We are like a bunch of monkeys! My grandmother found that romper at a thrift store and it's a little big but so soft & comfy. Win win.

We had a ton of boxes from the grill, some diapers, and Nathan randomly bought Emma a shopping cart (!!), so Caralyn made a castle!

It is so awesome. We may paint it or cover it with wrapping paper? Not sure yet. Oh and we brought the potty down because E is showing so much interest lately. I'm way too lazy to start but at least having it nearby will keep her familiar. Who knows, maybe she'll teach herself. Amiright?

And Caralyn always seems to find the most random things online. I don't really know what to say but we were crying laughing so loud when she sent this to me.

I don't know. There is obviously something in the water up here because we just laugh and laugh every time we see it. It gets funnier each time.

We are trying to think of a way to prank Nathan-- our last one fell through so we need to find bigger and better ideas. All ideas welcome. ;)
