Sending Valentines

Emma & I have had so much fun making valentines this year! We even recruited Daddy to help the other day. :-)

We found those crayons (barely pictures above) at Target. I can't find a link for them but they are so easy for tiny hands to use. Emma only took a bite out of the black one..a win in my book!

I know I posted a picture of the clean paint valentines-- I will have to do a post on those. I promise I will soon!

Emma is totally sticker-obsessed right now. She loves them on her hands and feet and can stick them on the fridge. I have got to find some stickers on sale somewhere..any suggestions?

We also finished Nathan's little Valentine-- I can't wait for him to see it! And get this-- I spent $0 out of pocket for it. And it's not some ghetto gift (I promise). Well, a little ghetto but not totally.

Even Little E helped wrap and put the stickers on, ha ha.

We are going to do some more clean painting valentines this weekend. Really getting into the spirit here. :-)

Valentine Tree

After making Emma's felt Christmas tree, I kind of got the "felt bug". Actually that's a lie. I just have a ton of felt leftover, so I decided to play around with it.

I'm not crafty at all. At. All. But I love it! I think it's so cute and Emma loves to throw the hearts everywhere. She was even sticking them on her shirt and the dogs.

I went the lazy way and didn't hot glue felt on the push pins like last time. I just cover them up with the hearts. E doesn't try to pull them out.

I'm so happy with how this turned out. Just like before, I had a yard of the white felt. I just used a sharpie and drew the "winter" tree and just went with it.

When it was time to tack it to the wall, I started at the bottom and worked my way out. I saved this for nap time because tacks were everywhere!

The hearts were easy, obviously. Just drew them and used regular scissors to cut them out.

I really love crafting with my girl! I'd like to get some more craft supplies as the year goes on-- maybe some pipe cleaners, poms?? Suggest anything else?

Thanksgiving 2014 Recap

Wow, I can't believe Thanksgiving is already over! We had the best Thanksgiving yet. That is saying a lot when I've spent a Thanksgiving in NYC watching the parade!

Several months ago (August?) my MIL mentioned they would be going to her brother's house for Thanksgiving, and they wanted us to come.

Okay I've wanted to write this blog post for a week so I'm just going to cut to the chase. We drove to Indiana and surprised Nathan's parents! Nathan's family knew, just not his parents, so it's not like we went all Eddie on them. (Ahem, Christmas Vacation reference).

It was totally worth the screaming in the car (by my husband and child), the 8 solid hours of Sophia the First, and all of us ending up with colds at the end.

Getting a picture of E in her new Thanksgiving outfit proved to be quite difficult!

We hung out around Nathan's aunt & uncle's house, my SIL & I did some shopping, and we did lots of eating. Lots.

Wednesday night we attempted some photos. I'll spare you the outtakes but this is kind of hilarious:

Needless to say the professional photographer is coming to our house Tuesday at 4..crossing my fingers for anything better than the above photo!

The food was wonderful. If I didn't convince you that it was good, how about the guy literally shoveling the food into his mouth? LOL.

Ems was thrilled to have lots of people to watch. She did so well; I am still quite shocked!

Oh and this is the scarf my SIL convinced me to buy on Black Friday. Emma loves it! Also note: my hair is still growing back. OMG.

I walked downstairs wearing it and Nathan said "Really?".
